Boyne + Forest Dunes = Unbeatable Golf Deal

Boyne Partners with Forest Dunes
Golf Club for 2012 Golf Season

By Don Shell

When it comes to great golf in the Midwest, it’s tough to imagine how Boyne could get any better. With two stellar resorts in Northern Michigan — Boyne Mountain and Boyne Highlands — 11 excellent courses, including the awesome Arthur Hills Course and beautiful Bay Harbor, Boyne’s about as good as it gets.

Newsflash: It just got better.

Boyne announced a new partnership with the fabulous Forest Dunes Golf Club in Roscommon, Michigan for the 2012 golf season, two great places that go great together.

Golfers staying on any of Boyne’s 2012 golf packages now have the option to add a round of golf at Forest Dunes for a ridiculously low rate, starting at just $59.

Forest Dunes Golf Club is a 7,104-yard, Tom Weiskopf-designed stunner that has been named one of America’s Greatest Golf Courses by Golf Digest in 2011/12, among many other accolades. The course is also undergoing a transformation into a destination of its own, with a new owner, Lew Thompson, and a new 22-room hotel opening this year.

Located just 60 miles south of Boyne Mountain Resort in Boyne Falls and 90 miles from Boyne Highlands Resort in Harbor Springs, the new deal’s about as big of a no-brainer as it gets.

“We’re excited to offer our guests yet another exceptional course option to play while staying on our golf packages,” Bernie Friedrich, Boyne Resorts’ senior vice president of golf, marketing and retail, said in a release.  “At Boyne, we provide more value, options and variety than any other Midwest golf destination, and are proud to align with Forest Dunes Golf Club to further enhance our customers’ golf experience.”

Forest Dunes opens for the season on Saturday, April 28. For more information on Forest Dunes, please visit www.boyne.com/Golf/Courses/forest_dunes.html.
