You give back to your community, of course.
Harbor Shores, the beautiful new beach and golf community in Benton Harbor, Michigan, announced it will donate home sites to Harbor Habitat for Humanity. The construction of two of the home sites at Harbor Shores will be funded by Whirlpool Corporation, parent company of the KitchenAid brand, which is the presenting sponsor of the 73rd Senior PGA Championship to be held at Harbor Shores from May 22-27, 2012.
“We are proud to donate these home sites to Harbor Habitat for Humanity,” Bob McFeeter, Managing Director, Harbor Shores said in a release. “This year promises to be an exciting one at Harbor Shores with the addition of the Trailsides neighborhood, a residential clubhouse, completion of the 12 miles of walking trails and the excitement of the 2012 Senior PGA Championship presented by KitchenAid. We look forward to sharing the Harbor Shores lifestyle with the future residents.”
As with other Habitat for Humanity homes that the company sponsors, Whirlpool Corporation employees will volunteer to build two of the homes at Harbor Shores. The employees will work together with Harbor Habitat for Humanity volunteers and expect one home to be completed and dedicated during the Senior PGA Championship next month.
Harbor Habitat for Humanity, established in Benton Harbor in 1995, has completed over 100 homes to date with the help of volunteers as the organization seeks to eliminate substandard housing in the community.
Harbor Shores Christens Clubhouse
Campus with Grand Opening
Campus includes restaurant, golf shop, golf training centers, cart barn
Harbor Shores also unveiled the grand opening of its 17,000 square-foot clubhouse campus recently, as it gears up for the Senior PGA. The stylish-yet-understated complex also includes a First Tee of Benton Harbor building and Harbor Shores Learning Center. Harbor Shores introduced the clubhouse campus just weeks in advance of the 73rd Senior PGA Championship presented by KitchenAid, to be held at Harbor Shores from May 22-27, 2012.
The 8,500 square-foot clubhouse, managed by KemperSports, is a significant landmark on the 530-acre property. Located adjacent to the first tee at the Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, the clubhouse features The Grille at Harbor Shores full-service restaurant, golf shop, a dining and meeting room, men’s and women’s locker rooms and an outdoor patio overlooking the golf course.
“We are thrilled to introduce the new clubhouse as the centerpiece of the Harbor Shores golf course,” Aaron Williams, general manager of the Golf Course at Harbor Shores, said in a release. “We look forward to welcoming golfers and the community to experience the clubhouse, restaurant and other amenities.”
The Grille at Harbor Shores features an assortment of fine dining choices — ranging from local produce to fresh fish to gourmet steaks. In addition to the food menu, the restaurant will have a full bar featuring a vast array of wineries from Napa to New Zealand.
The clubhouse’s additional amenities include the KitchenAid Outdoor Kitchen, featuring a grill, full bar and casual dining space. The clubhouse also has an intimate banquet facility, The Shores Club, with a balcony overlooking the golf course that may be reserved for special functions.
